Last-minute details . . .

This morning began with a trip to the doggie hospital for Boris. He suddenly began acting strangely sluggish and lost his appetite late Saturday, and usually his appetite is voracious. We feared various things for the worst, and the timing naturally could not be worse -- we couldn't leave him at home alone with an unknown illness, but obviously we have to be at the hsopital. So a visit to our very nive vet sorted things out. She ran some blood tests, checked his heart etc. -- he is after all a very old dog -- and fortunately all those tests were passed with flying colors.

The vet believes he has some kind of intestinal virus, and the latest word from the doggie hospital is that after receiving some fluids, nutrients and medication via an IV this afternoon, Boris is chowing down on a variety of foodstuffs and perking up. We're going to board him at the hospital as a precaution while we are in the hospital, which will be from 10 am Tuesday morning until, probably, Thursday afternoon. Check Jack's blog for all the updates!

Meanwhile -- some laundering, some housecleaning, finishing the dreaded iTunes project and schlepping a last box or two over to the storage facility. Then, maybe, watching a movie tonight in the last moments of peace and quiet we'll likely see in many moons . . .
